American Dipper

Today we went with Maggie Boswell to look for the Green Heron in Lyons and were also hoping for a glimpse of the Eastern Phoebe that we'd seen two days earlier.  We succeeded in finding the heron, but not the phoebe.  We also saw an American Dipper near the bridge that crosses over the Saint Vrain River and I got some nice photos.  The American Dipper is one of our favorite local birds.  They are a songbird that swims underwater and they live only along rivers feeding on aquatic insects.
